Sleigh Rides

Season: Winter (November – February)

Come and join us for our 27th annual season as Leavenworth’s longest continuously running sleigh ride. Glide through a winter wonderland with crisp mountain air and a beautiful snow covered canyon as your backdrop on one of our custom hand-built sleighs.

Sing along to the beat of the jingle bells, listen to the clomping hoofs of the horses as you dash through the snow. Our majestic Belgian and Suffolk Draft Horses will wow you with their gentle nature and quirky personalities. Travel along farm trails, over fields and through the woods snuggled under our provided wool blankets. At the end of the ride warm yourself by the fire and sip on hot cocoa or pose for pictures with the Horses. We accommodate individuals, groups, and custom parties of any size.

Each ride includes wool blankets on the sleighs and complimentary hot cocoa upon the ride’s completion.

Sleighs with a purpose

All of the sleighs our guests ride on were fabricated by owner Ross Frank. The traditional design for sleighs was an inward facing bench seat, pointing passengers at each other. Ross wanted his guests to be able to enjoy their surroundings and interact with their driver with an intimate group size of no more than 14, so he designed the seats to face forward. You’ll also be gliding on a little piece of history as the undercarriage and runners are original casts used during the early 1920s in the Midwest.

Horses are athletes too

Our draft horses are members of the family and are treated like finely tuned athletes. Sleigh ride season is the equivalent to game-day as they’ve spent the off-season training for the winter months. During the summer, fall and spring seasons our horses help maintain the health of our forests with Ross as he strives to manage the tree farm, along with providing guests with some summer recreation on hayrides. We love our family of drafts and strive to provide them with a high quality of life and rewarding relationships with guests.
